When we speak about flyfishing, flies are as well the real insects as their imitations. The study of insects, the entomology, is listing thausends of species. Of course, here, we will content ourself to mention the usual preys of the fish you find in Alsace and France. And, of course, some aspects of their imitations.

IIn October, the graylings readily swallow gnats on the surface. Trout sometimes take them exclusively. In this case my CTC-1 regularly proves to be effective.
